Monitoring
5 capabilitiesIs the store up, and how fast does it answer.
Know the moment the store goes down, and when it is back.
Site Tools checks the storefront as often as every minute. A down alert needs three failed checks and a second location to agree, so you are not woken by a blip.
- Uptime checks every 1 to 60 minutes, with a timeout you set
- Down and back-up emails, confirmed from a second location
- Response time, availability today, failed checks, downtime, last outage, and a check log
- A homepage screenshot that flags when the page looks different or goes blank
- Your speed against other stores on the same BigCommerce server
- History with daily uptime, in your store's time zone

Store health
7 capabilitiesProblems a ping cannot see: orders, prices, the catalog, setup, and checkout.
One score for the whole store, and the fixes worth doing first.

What customers say about Site Tools.
2 of 2 BigCommerce marketplace reviews give it 5 stars. Below are recent 5-star reviews, in the reviewers' own words.
Great App and a great price
This is exactly what we've been looking for: an app that lets us know if our store goes down before our customers do. It does exactly what it says on the tin. Thank you FreshClick
Great value fully featured app
This is a real bargain for monitoring our BigCommerce site. Although BigCommerce clearly run enterprise monitoring across the platform, the near instant reporting allows us to adjust our operations in real time to offer customer support, suspend campaigns if needed and concentrate on areas needed. It brings everything together in one place.
Common questions
What happened to Uptime Monitor?
It is now Site Tools. Uptime monitoring works as before, with checks as often as every minute, and the app now also checks orders, the catalog, checkout, speed, errors, accessibility, security, SEO, Google, Bing, and AI readiness.
Will Site Tools place test orders?
No. The optional checkout test adds a product to a new cart, loads the checkout, and deletes the cart. No order is placed. When switched on, the test runs hourly, so a broken checkout can be found before shoppers run into it.
How does Site Tools avoid false down alerts?
A down alert needs three failed checks in a row, and a second location has to agree before the email is sent. Checks run as often as every minute, and you also get a recovery email when the store is back up.
How is the price worked out?
Per storefront, by the number of in-stock products Site Tools checks. A setting adds out-of-stock products. The tier moves automatically as your catalog grows or shrinks.
Does it work with Multi-Storefront?
Yes. Each storefront can be switched on with its own monitor, health checks, trial, and price. Site Tools also checks that every extra storefront loads, has a valid certificate and its own sitemap, and that hreflang links between storefronts work.
