Adding a Custom Field

  • 1. Go to Products › View, then click on the name of your product to edit it.
  • 2. Go to the Custom Fields tab. The Custom Fields section is at the top.
  • 3. Enter the following information for your custom field:
    Custom field name (e.g. Release Date)
    Custom field value (e.g. 1997)
  • 4. Save your changes when done.

  • 1. Go to Products › View, then click on the name of your product to edit it.
  • 2. Go to the Other Details tab. The Bin Picking number section is at the bottom.
  • 3. Save your changes when done.

Q. Why isn't my category filter showing?

  • Check you've inserted the code correctly into your category template from the run setup link on the settings page.
  • Check you have time left on your category filter.
  • Check your category filter is visible on the settings page.
  • Check you've selected filters on the Dashboard, visible is selected & you've saved your configuration.
  • If you've checked all of these then please click Report a Problem in the footer and we will fix the problem.

Q. Why isn't my brands filter showing?

  • Check you have time left on your category filter as this needs to have time left for all features to work.

What do I do if I do not have a sidebar on my category page?

  • Bigcommerce adds a default sidebar with the class of "Left" and your content that contains your product will have a class of "Wide". If you do not see left you will need to add a sidebar, if you need help please click on Want us to install it for you on the Settings page and we will add it for you.

Q. Why isn't my Insights add-on working?

  • Check you have time left on your insights add-on.
  • Check you have time left on your category filter as this needs to have time left for all features to work.
  • If you've checked all of these then please click Report a Problem in the footer and we will take a look.

Q. Why aren't some filters showing on my store but others are?

  • The filter will only display your filters you've selected on pages that the filter relates to. For example, you've selected to show the "Brand" filter on your store but if the products in a category do not have any brands assigned to them then the filter will not show.
  • If you've checked all of these then please click Report a Problem in the footer and we will take a look.

Q. I have purchased a template from Bigcommerce, why can I not access design mode to run the setup?

  • Some templates do not allow you to access the design mode to edit the template files, if this is the case then you will not be able to install this filer.

Q. Can I show different filters on different categories?

  • At the moment that answer is no, this is a feature we're working on. However, the filter will only display if the products contain the selected filter values.

Q. Please can you help me add the filter to my store?

  • Yes we can help you but first we recommend watching the Instruction videos on then settings page, if you still cannot install it then please click the Want us to install it for you button on the settings page and we will install it for you.

Q. Why isn't the filter styled correctly on my store?

  • Every Bigcommerce store contains different styles so a style from your templates style sheet maybe conflicting with our filter styles. If the filter doesn't display correctly please click Report a Problem and we will take a look for you.

Q. I've updated/added products, why isn't the filter updating?

  • The filter will check for store updates every 24 hours, if you cannot wait that long then please click the Force Update button on the Dashboard and this will update the filter. Please note this can only be pressed once an hour.

Q. I cannot access design mode, what can I do?

  • At the moment if you cannot access design mode then you cannot install the filter, we're working on this, please click Request a Feature and we will notify you when this feature is ready.

Q. Once ive paid, can I get a refund?

  • Unfortunatly we do not offer any refunds. We offer a 10 day free trial for you to test the filter and to make sure its working correctly.

Q. I've changed the template on my store and the filter is no longer displaying, what do I do?

  • Go to your settings page and re-run the filter setup, this will add the code back into your template.

Q. What happens if my products go above my package?

  • If you exceed your package with an increase in products your filter time will automatically be adjusted. Each package is worth double of the package below. If you go up one package then your time will half. So if you're on package 1 with 30 days left on your category filter and your updated products falls into package 2, your category filter time will be halved to 15 days.

Q. What happens if my products go below my package?

  • If your products decrease and you drop down in the below package your filter time will automatically be adjusted. If you drop a package then your time will be doubled. So if you're on package 2 with 30 days left on your category filter and your updated products falls into package 1, your category filter time will be doubled to 60 days.
