Responsive websites are those built to “respond to” or re-size themselves depending on the device being used. They adapt to a user’s device and behaviour, and make pages that look great at any size!
Here at Freshclick we create Responsive websites that work on mobile devices, tablets, and desktop screens, offering optimal viewing, easy reading and simple navigation.
With more and more people using their smart phones and tablets to surf the web and shop online it’s important that companies provide a good experience to users no matter the device they are using. Which is why we would always recommend a responsive design
What does Responsive Web Design Look Like?
The purpose of responsive design is to have one site, but with different elements that respond differently when viewed on devices of different sizes.
A traditional “fixed” website when viewed on a desktop computer might show a clear, fully functional site but when you view that same layout on a tablet, it may become distorted and force you to scroll horizontally, something users don’t like. Or elements might be hidden from view. The impact is also complicated by the fact that many tablets can be viewed either portrait or turned landscape. On a smartphone screen, websites can be even more challenging to see. Large images may “break” the layout and sites can be slow to load.
However, if a site uses responsive design, it will automatically adjust to the device. The content might appear as a single column, images will resize instead of distorting the layout or getting cut off, and content is readable and easy to navigate
